The produce grown locally on Johns Island makes up much of the unique flavors of Lowcountry cuisine. In fact, Johns Island is one of the largest tomato producers in the country. Local restaurants prominently feature fresh, local cuisine, making dining out on Johns Island a memorable treat. Johns Island’s true claim to fame is The Angel Oak, the largest living oak tree east of the Mississippi River.
