Deborah Leonard

Realtor®

Born in Hamlet, NC, Deborah Leonard first moved to Charleston in 1979 to work at The College of Charleston while her husband attended dental school at MUSC and has been in love with the Lowcountry ever since. Deborah happily resides on Seabrook Island. She graduated from UNC Chapel Hill with a bachelor’s degree in psychology and an M.Ed. in counseling and student services from the University of Georgia. Her professional work experience includes working as an admissions and financial aid counselor. As of 2019, she obtained her Realtor® license and joined team Akers Ellis. While she is proud of her professional career, her proudest accomplishment is her family. In Deborah’s free time she can be found spending time with her husband, Walt, her daughter, Leanna, and her two grandchildren, Grey and Ann Sutton. Deborah is very active in the community volunteering with the Seabrook Green Space Conservancy board, The Alan Fleming Tennis Tournament, The Ronald McDonald Supper Club, and Reading Partners. She is also a member of two tennis teams, a women’s book club, and enjoys exploring Seabrook Island by foot and bike.
